Live Consultation: Proposals for Warwick District’s Smoke Control Areas

Warwick District Council has launched a public consultation regarding proposed changes to our Smoke Control Areas (SCAs), and we would highly value the input of residents.

Gaining feedback from our communities is vital in shaping how we manage and improve air quality across the district. By understanding the views of our residents and businesses, we can ensure that our final policies are not only effective in reducing particulate matter, but also practical and well-supported by the people they affect. This public insight is a crucial step in helping us implement sustainable measures to protect our local environment and public health.

I have attached a digital copy of our consultation poster. You are welcome to print this out and display it within your community. I will also be out and about across the district sometime this week to personally put up hard copies on noticeboards.

We are keen to reassure residents that any changes will not prevent people from using wood-burning stoves or open fires, provided they meet the relevant requirements (i.e. Defra-approved appliances or authorised smokeless fuels).
